Along with hosting Family Camp each summer, Wonder Valley Ranch Resort and Conference Center is a busy place during the rest of the year as well. Every weekend and throughout many weeks, an exciting list of programs and events are available to families, groups, businesses or couples looking to enjoy our 75-acre facility.
Wonder Valley Ranch Resort sits at the heart of beautifully tranquil Wonder Valley, just minutes east of Fresno, California in the Sierra Nevada foothills. On our grounds are modern accommodations, two beautiful lodges overlooking Dalton Pond and several meeting rooms equipped with everything needed to conduct very productive business conferences and meetings.

Conference and Meeting Center – Large and small businesses, non-profit organizations and church groups will find the conference and meeting facilities at Wonder Valley Ranch Resort both enjoyable and accommodating. Set in a peaceful setting away from the hectic pace of city life, guests find the atmosphere to be very relaxing, where delegates can concentrate on their business, resulting in very productive sessions. We offer meeting rooms of all sizes, audio/visual equipment available for rental, modern rooms and full banquet meal service. Transportation for various side trips can be added, and the Fresno Air Terminal is just 35 minutes away for busy executives flying in for events.
Ropes Challenge Course – At first glance, the strange collection of poles and ropes looks intimidating, but it is actually one of today’s most sought-after training tools. Many large and small groups and organizations use Wonder Valley Ranch Resort’s Ropes Challenge Course throughout the year for personal development, building team and leadership skills, and improving trust and communications. Special programs for people of all skill levels can be arranged.Family/Class Reunions – Wonder Valley Ranch Resort is an ideal choice for the location of your next family or class reunion. All the accommodations needed to host overnight guests are offered, and our central location about four hours from either Los Angeles or San Francisco makes accessibility easy for everyone.
Champ Camp – Each summer for nine wonderful days, Wonder Valley Ranch Resort hosts this special camp just for burn-injured children. Sponsored wholly by the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, the camp brings in an all-volunteer staff made up of many in the health care and emergency services fields. This camp allows these children a chance to meet others who have had similar experiences, and make friends that will last a lifetime.
Group Hayrides – Enjoy a peaceful hayride under the Sierra stars, being pulled down a quiet country road by Wonder Valley’s team of Belgian draft horses. Add an optional Cowboy Song leader. Any family or business group will enjoy a special experience. Horse-drawn Trolley rides are also available as a unique addition to your event.
Weddings – The beauty and serenity of our Lakeview Wedding Garden and Legacy Lodge reception facility make Wonder Valley an exceptional destination wedding location. We also accommodate winter weddings using the large stone fireplace in our beautiful Lakeshore Lodge as a backdrop for your very special event.

Destination/Group Tours – From the moment your tour bus pulls up to the gates of Wonder Valley Ranch Resort’s scenic foothill grounds, the fun begins and never stops throughout each day and night of your stay. And while our 75-acre facility offers beautiful surroundings and endless activities, our ranch resort makes the perfect base for many exciting side trips to locations in the area such as Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park, Eagle watching at Millerton Lake, Turn of the Century Town Tour, Wine Crush Tour or a visit to a nearby Indian casino to name a few.

For a wonderful summer children’s resident camp where friends share memories that last a lifetime, River Way Ranch Camp is a very popular choice. Since 1967, the Oken family has hosted this highly-accredited camp, which offers over 70 activities, side trips and outings, and new learning experiences for kids of all ages. Along with its regular sessions, River Way also offers “Specialty Camps” each summer:
Waterski/Wakeboard Camp (ages 10-16) – River Way Waterski/Wakeboard campers will learn everything from basics to trick skiing and barefooting, and will enjoy being on the water 4-6 hours a day, five days a week. Specially-trained instructors are brought in just for this popular camp each summer.
Horse Camp (ages 10-16) – Three hours a day or more of individualized instruction awaits campers at River Way Ranch Camp’s complete Equestrian Center. The very popular camp is taught by experienced instructors who present lessons in English or Western riding, grooming, saddling, conformation, etc. A very thrilling part of this special camp is that each camper cares for their own horse throughout the camp, ensuring that each child gets the most from their time spent here.
Rock Star Camp – Under the guidance of our professional Rock Instructor, campers work in our studio, complete with all the latest equipment, and have the ability to record and cut a CD! Campers are divided by ability and progress at their own pace, first-time musicians are also welcome. Campers can improve their skills while learning about other instruments and running a sound board. Instruction is offered in voice, composition, producing, drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, recording, and mixing. At the conclusion of the session, Rock campers perform in Concert for the entire camp.
Paintball Camp – Due to popular demand, River Way would like to introduce its newest specialty camp – Paintball. Don’t miss this opportunity to have hours of fun experiencing the thrill of gaining tactical advantages while performing professional drills on our state-of-the art Paintball Course. This specialty camp is for campers 10 years of age and older. Campers will also participate in mini in-house tournaments and learn the basics of refereeing. Paintball will be limited to 12 campers per session.
Performing Arts Program (ages 10-16) – All facets of theater production are developed at this camp, which builds throughout each day to a special closing night performance. Taught are audition skills, costume design, dance, drama and voice and rehearsal techniques.
Film School – Campers will write, direct and produce their very own film. They will take their own ideas, turn them into a screenplay, cast the best actor for each role and then shoot, edit and screen the film. Campers will also be involved in producing the end of session video to be viewed by all of camp on the final Friday. We will focus on: 1) Screen Writing; 2) Production (including lighting, sound, camera work and much more) 3) Post-Production 4) Editing Technologies. Camper’s will have the ability to use Final Cut Pro, premier editing software used in the industry, and iMovie. They will use state of the art High Def and Digital Cameras.
Tech Lab – This program allows campers to learn the most current design programs in both Mac and PC. Campers will work with web design, digital graphics, River Way Camp Newspaper, and digital photography. Campers will also be able to work on the camp slideshow and yearbook.
